Caring Community News

The Caring Committee continues to be busy taking care of our congregants. If you know someone could use some homemade soup, please let me know. Obviously, we always need more soups put in our freezer. When you leave some soup in the freezer, please let me know. Also, please put the date on the container(s), the type of soup, and your name. I can let everyone know that I have enjoyed some of those soups over the past few months.

Also, I would like it very much if someone would take on the responsibility to make small kugels. You would set up a date to make small kugels. This wonderful person would pick the recipe, plan on a date to make them in the Temple kitchen. People could also make them at home. It would be wonderful if two people would take on this mitzvah.

Forbes Hospital seeks volunteers to become Compassionate Companions to be present and provide bedside companionship to patients in their final days or hours of life. Training will be provided and other support will be offered as needed.

Phone Notification Service Available

We all know the importance of timely communication, so Jay Goodman prepares our monthly bulletin and sends weekly e-mails and condolence e-mails to keep us abreast of all of the Temple David happenings. However, some Temple members do not have access to the internet and cannot find out, in a timely manner, when a fellow congregant or relative of a congregant has passed away.

Temple David is now initiating a new service for those members who do not use the internet. They will receive a phone call with information when someone passes away. If you would like to participate in this service, please call 412-372-1200 and let Beverly know.

If you do use the internet, please do not call for this service. If you need to be added to our e-mail list please send a message to listmgr@templedavid.org.
