Hey there, interfaith couples! A happy finally spring to you! Since the pandemic has receded and we can meet in person, I have, at last, scheduled a gathering for us!
We will enjoy wines from near and far, hors d’oeuvres, snacks, and sweets.
Together, we can deepen our friendships, start new ones, talk about anything and everything, and brainstorm about some things we can do together in the future, be it socializing, volunteering, or planning a fun day trip!

WELCOMING REFUGEES
Our faiths also teach us to welcome the stranger and care for those without homes or safety. You can submit a welcome letter for our newest neighbors from Afghanistan. They will be compiled in a book for each new arrival.
Jewish Family and Community Services in Pittsburgh is collecting welcome letters for new neighbors. Figure out what you want to say. Then go the www.jfcspgh.org. Look for the black banner at the top of the home page. It says “To help Afghan Refugees, click on ‘Click Here’” and then scroll down to Welcome Home Book. You can submit your letter.
THE MYTH OF THANKSGIVING

THANKSGIVING GATHERING
We will be gathering at Monroeville United Methodist Church to share from our traditions how Thanksgiving touches our hearts and is expressed in our lives. Hear different expressions from sacred writings, songs, and poetry from each of our traditions. Then we will have time to reflect on what we have heard, and share with each other our thanks and ways we can touch the world with our gratitude.
Come join us! Monday November 22 at 7 p.m. at Monroeville United Methodist Church, 219 Center Road, Monroeville. RSVP to MUMC@MonroevilleUMC.org or (412) 372-7474, to let us know that you are coming and how many are in your group so that we can plan accordingly.
Efforts are underway to offer this online as well. Please call or e-mail the MUMC office for an update. Masks are required and social distancing will be in effect.

Temple Members and their guests can enjoy the park all day and use our pavilion from noon onwards. This is a large pavilion for social distancing. If you wish to bring chairs, it will allow for even more space by spreading out onto the grass.

We will meet in the social hall or conference room, whichever is available. No food will be permitted. You may bring your own drink but will have to clean up after yourself and take all trash with you. Janitorial services may not be available.

David is the co-anchor of Channel 11 News at 5 with Peggy Finnegan and co-anchor of Channel News at 6 and 11@11 with Lisa Sylvester. He also anchors the News on PCNC at 7 p.m.
David and Peggy are the longest-running anchor team in Pittsburgh TV history and together were named Broadcasters of the Year for 2016 by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, the first anchor team so honored. They also received the 2015 Press Club of Western Pennsylvania’s President’s Award for career achievement in journalism. David has worked at WPXI since January 1985, when he came to Pittsburgh from Atlanta. He anchored the noon news and filed reports for the 6 p.m. news. He moved to evening news anchor in 1989.
He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up near Daytona Beach. While earning a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting at the University of Florida, David began his career in television. He’s worked on the air in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Chattanooga, Orlando and Atlanta. It was in Atlanta at WSB-TV that David met his wife, Nancy, who can be seen on WQED during pledge breaks and cooking shows. The couple has two sons, Michael and Eric.
