Fund Descriptions-ALL funds may be contributed to except for those that are listed as Restricted Funds.
Temple David Regular Funds
Building Fund: For major building repairs.
Caring Community Fund: To enable the Caring Community to provide assistance to Temple David members.
Deborah Pepkowitz Fund: For use by and to benefit the religious school.
Hanna K. Abramson Holocaust Memorial Fund: To support Holocaust Memorial displays within Temple David.
Library Fund: For purchasing additional volumes for the Temple David Library.
Memorial Fund: For capital improvements to Temple David facilities and major purchases.
Pulpit Fund: For the enhancement and beautification of religious services through flowers and other pulpit decorations.
Prayer Book Fund: For purchasing additional prayerbooks.
Religious Action Fund: For support of charitable, community, and social action programming.
Spiritual Leader’s Mitzvah Fund: For philanthropic purposes at the personal discretion of the Spiritual Leader.
Temple David (General) Fund: For the day-to-day operation of TD.
Tikkun Olam Fund: To increase environmental awareness at TD through education and improvements to the physical plant.
Youth Group Fund: To support Youth Group programming.
Temple David Endowment Funds
Betty Harris Music Endowment: For all aspects of music at Temple David, in support of the Spiritual Leader, Weiger School, and Choir.
David Linzer Kallah Endowment: To provide funding for Temple David members who need assistance to attend a Temple David Kallah and to provide funding for Temple David Kallah programming.
Cynthia and Gerry Faigen Endowment: To provide help for those Temple David members in need.
Gurrentz Experiential Endowment: To support trips or scholarships for Temple David youth.
Rabbi Jason Z. Edelstein Endowment: For the betterment of Temple David and its programs: supplementing the operating budget, enhancing the life of members by enriching educational and social programs, and maintaining and upgrading the physical structure and grounds.
Kay Liss Memorial Endowment: To enhance and beautify Temple David building and grounds.
Selma and Murray Lowenthal Youth Endowment: To provide programming for Temple Youth
Sheila Moritz Memorial Scholarship: To annually provide a scholarship based on need and merit, to help with Religious School books and fees.
Harvey and Elaine Wolfe Rabbinic Chair: To provide subsidies to the Temple David Budget to pay the Rabbi or Cantor. That person will hold the Harvey and Elaine Wolfe Rabbinic or Cantorial Chair
Temple David Restricted Funds
B’nai Mitzvah Fund: Funds accrued from Bar/Bat Mitzvah Fee – Used for Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutorial, music, and other related items.
Keren Ami Fund (Religious School): Funds accrued from donations by religious school students and donated to selected charities.
Tzedakah (General Board): Funds accrued by donations from General Board members at monthly board meetings & donated to selected charities.
Joseph and Blanche Weiger Memorial Fund: For programming or for the repair or enhancement of facilities at Temple David.
